Ali’s House

A Refuge for Creative Souls

Love and Art in the heart of Magoulades

In a little pink village, with breathtaking views of gorgeous mountains and forests, Ali’s home in Corfu is a creative nexus point. With a lively, warm atmosphere, interesting people, private Happenings, a changing garden and the stunning olive press. A chance to live together with calm, beauty and creativity.

Since I was lucky enough to buy this place in June 2023, I’ve been steadily changing it from an ultra-white yoga bnb to a creative colourful home evoking warmth, freedom and aliveness. Friends, artists, writers, dreamers, dancers, seekers, queer folx, creators, lovers of life and free spirits gather creating kindness and community together.

See what we’ve done to the rooms…

Report from Greco

The blogs below follow the story of the magic of Mandala from Ali's sharings on Facebook. A modern-day quest, from hearing the call to Corfu to the latest unfolding of happenings at Mandala. Trusting, quirky, and collective, the following excerpts give a flavour of who showed up over a timeline of transformation.

The essence of home isn’t just in the space itself — it lives in the friends who visit. There's a collective care here; we look after the house and she looks after us, and we look after each other.

Friends, and friends of friends are welcome to be involved in our creative endeavours.

About Us

Ali is a sexy polymath, nascent artist, writer, and connector, welcoming you with warmth and a smile, along with a cup of coffee or a conversation. An escapee and seeker, she's been a teacher, traveller, legal bookseller and is now a sex coach, host and writer. Naturally becoming part of this beautiful new landscape, she's enjoying the conscious community happenings, ecstatic dance, local walks, and times at the beaches, helping you make the most of Corfu life as she discovers it.

Claudia van de Kamp is the co-creator of beauty and Mandala's right-hand woman, handy with a paintbrush full of colour, calm in a crisis and ace marmalade maker. Together we're holding space for silence, discovery and creativity. With coffee and croissants every morning from 9 -11 in the olive press, come and join in our new artistic venture.

  • Connection with others in community, with seasonality, beautiful, bold conversation and simple food shared. Enlivening, essential and delicious...

This was the second time I'd visited for a blessed month. It is a tranquil base from which to dive into the fizz of local happenings or watch the world go by at Ina's Cafe in Arillas. Ali is creating something while holding this magical anchor - go and embroider it and make your mark! I'm delighted to have helped out in the garden and to make the place even more beautiful." - Mark

  • "Mandala House has benefited from the artistic sensibility and love of beauty of its new owner, Alison Pilling. Ali, a writer and artist at heart, has created a residence that honours the simplicity of living in tune with the natural rhythm of things...

I have stayed at Mandala House in all seasons and have loved slipping into the fluidity of community that Ali naturally fosters there, yet knowing there is always space for retreat, to contemplate, write, create, rest and restore. It is exquisitely special and unique and highly recommended if you want a time-out with a difference." - Anne

  • "Beauty, warmth, community, independence, fun! I had such a deeply transformative and alchemical time at Mandala House. All I wanted to do was enjoy hanging out with Ali at her place, but I got so much more. It was pure magic...

Warmth, beauty, spontaneity, and creativity at every corner!  The stunning village setting, the olive press gatherings, sessions in the therapy room and of course the beach.... I came away feeling so inspired and refreshed." - Zinzi

  • "Mandala House is more than just a place—it’s a sanctuary. A space to land softly, to recover, to meditate, to find inspiration, or to connect with a vibrant community...

Whether you choose to engage deeply or simply sit with a coffee and let the world flow around you, it offers exactly what you need." - Zoe
